Workflow Mesh — durable agentic operations

Long-running agentic workflows on Temporal with human-in-the-loop gates and full replay.

Get a scoping call

AI workflows that run for minutes, hours, or days across multiple agents, APIs, and human approvals need infrastructure that HTTP requests can't provide. Workflow Mesh is a Temporal-based orchestration layer purpose-built for agentic operations — with retries, timeouts, versioning, and a complete audit trail.

What's included

Durable execution
Workflows survive server restarts, network failures, and provider outages. State is checkpointed automatically at every step.
Human-in-the-loop gates
Approval steps, review queues, and escalation paths built into the workflow — not bolted on as afterthoughts.
Multi-agent orchestration
Typed handoffs between specialized agents with shared context and per-agent observability at every step.
Replay & debugging
Replay any workflow run from any checkpoint with the exact same inputs — essential for diagnosing production failures.
Admin UI
A Next.js dashboard for operations teams to view workflow state, approve gates, cancel runs, and export audit logs.

How we work

Week 1
Workflow design
Map the business process, identify failure modes, define human gates, and design the workflow state machine.
Week 2–4
Core build
Temporal cluster setup, workflow and activity implementations, agent integrations, and retry policies.
Week 5–7
Admin UI & integrations
Operations dashboard, approval flows, Slack/email notifications, and CRM/ERP integrations.
Week 8
Load test & handover
Load testing to target concurrency, observability setup, runbook, and team training.

Best practices for Workflow Mesh

  • Model every failure mode before the happy path

Temporal's value is in handling failures. A workflow spec that only shows the success path is missing the most important half.

  • Keep activities idempotent

Temporal retries activities on failure. Non-idempotent side effects cause double-execution bugs that are hard to detect and expensive to fix in production.

  • Version workflows from day one

Changing a running workflow's logic without using Temporal's versioning API corrupts in-flight executions. It's non-negotiable from the first deployment.

  • Use signals for human approvals, not polling

A signal wakes a workflow exactly once when the approval arrives. A polling loop wastes resources and adds unnecessary latency to every gate.

“The best strategy is the one your engineering team can actually execute. We've worked on both sides of that divide — and we close it.”

FAQ

Why Temporal over n8n or Zapier?
Temporal is built for code-first, long-running, high-reliability workflows. n8n is excellent for simple automation; Temporal is the right choice when failure handling, replay, and audit trails are non-negotiable.
Can we run Temporal on our own infrastructure?
Yes. We deploy Temporal Server to your Kubernetes cluster or ECS. Temporal Cloud is also an option if you prefer managed hosting.
How do you integrate with existing systems?
Temporal activities are just functions — we write typed wrappers for your existing APIs, databases, and third-party services.
