We modernized a 28-year-old dispatch system into a multi-region SaaS platform powering 14,000 daily deliveries — without a single hour of downtime.
The COBOL system was load-bearing. Any downtime meant trucks idling, drivers paid for nothing, and SLA penalties to anchor customers.
Event-driven Postgres + Kafka. Every legacy mutation was mirrored to the new system via change-data-capture. We cut over functional domains weekly, with two-way sync as a safety net.
Nine months later, the COBOL system was fully decommissioned. Route optimization gained 23% efficiency. Driver app NPS rose from 14 to 71.
